Yesterday, October 1, 2010 was a very sad day as we said goodbye to our little man...MOWGLI. Many of you remember him as the official store mascot and greeter, where he spent most of his life perched up high behind the counter or snoring away in his little bed. Over the years he got to know thousands of customers and hundreds of four-legged visitors, people often inquired about the shop by asking, "Is this Mowgli's store?"........ Indeed, it was.
We found Mowgli at a wonderful animal rescue in 1996, and with all of the searching we do in this business, this was, without a doubt, the "find" of our lifetimes. We often wondered how anyone could abuse such a gentle, warm, beautiful soul, he was the best pet anyone could ask for, and without a doubt the most heartwarming companion one could ever have.
We made certain from the start that Mowgli was to lead a charmed life. He was rarely left alone and was spoiled rotten by everyone. People often commented how lucky Mowgli was to be with us. However, we were the lucky ones, blessed with his affection and love, boundless energy and unmatchable personality, he gave us, and so many others, years of happiness, laughter and joy.
Although he left us a very old man, in our hearts and minds, he will always be our little boy.
Rest in peace sweet Mowgli and know that you will be remembered each and every day.
